Case Study: Two friends and an agent hilariously intertwined!
The spring market of 2022 was mired with low inventory, multiple bids, and rising home prices. In April, two first time home buyers reached out for help finding their new homes. Tess through a referral and Amelia through Google search after an unfavorable experience with her then agent. Both gals looking for condos in Lincoln Park or Lakeview within the same price range and with similar ‘wish lists’. The pressure was on – two buyers on a strict timeline looking for essentially the same home with zero inventory.
Luckily, we were able to secure Tess a gorgeous third floor vintage condo in Lakeview a couple days after it hit the market. Eight days later, we matched Amelia with a beautifully appointed two bedroom condo in Lincoln Park that came back on the market after a deal fell. With the thought of clients bidding against one another off the table, we could take a deep breath and savor the moment; we had two happy clients who found their respective dream home!
Unbeknownst to us, the two clients were great friends. So great in fact, that after Amelia told Tess about her negative experience with her previous realtor, Tess tried to convince her to get in touch with the “fantastic real estate agent” she was working with. Amelia told Tess she had just found someone she really liked and was in good hands. Tess was persistent, telling Amelia ‘You should call Lucy, you will love her!” Amelia chuckled as said “Ha, too funny, my agent is also named Lucy.” Yep, you guessed it, Amelia and Tess each found their way to Lucy Teruel and The Dobbs Group!
