Streeterville is one of Chicago’s oldest neighborhoods but has some of its newest construction. It is located just north of the Loop and south of Chicago’s famed Gold Coast. Over the past 10 years, dozens of new properties have been built in Streeterville; sleek and luxurious, residential high-rise condominium properties, world-class hotels, local to international boutiques, and cultural and medical institutional structures, all surrounding the spot where Captain George Wellington Streeter famously ran aground, laying claim to the area in 1886.

The Magnificent Mile, Water Tower Place, and the Museum of Contemporary Art anchor Streeterville. It is also home to Northwestern Memorial Hospital’s new, state-of-the-art medical campus and the downtown campuses of Northwestern University and the University of Chicago. The stunning Chicago lakefront is never more than a couple of blocks away and sailboats dot the lake spring through fall. Navy Pier is another world-class tourist attraction that calls Streeterville home. Dining options include a truly eclectic mix of restaurants; from cozy neighborhood spots to 4-star world-class fine dining; all serving neighborhood residents, the office crowd, and the business travelers and tourists who stroll down Michigan Avenue.

Some of the biggest and more notable structures that makeup Streeterville include the ‘Mag Mile’, the Water Tower District, and the main center for Northwestern University’s medical hospital campus. Enjoy easy access to some of Chicago’s hottest rooftop bars in the area and a less than 10 minute commute to Chicago’s financial district area downtown.

Water Tower Place shopping mall is located within Streeterville, along Chicago’s ‘Magnificent Mile, at the corner of Chicago Avenue and State Street. It is one of the city’s biggest tourist attractions.

Southern Cut Barbecue is owned and operated by the same restaurant group that owns Chicago Cut steakhouse, but has a more approachable feel as compared to its sister restaurant. Insider tip: Southern Cut receives some of the same cuts of meat that Chicago Cut receives from their distributors, but charges its patrons at a fraction of the price. It is truly a neighborhood gem, complete with a cute patio and excellent cocktail selections.
