Albany Park is one of the ultimate ethnic food destinations in the city! A virtual melting pot for culture and cuisine, this small, vibrant neighborhood is a wonderful place to explore. My favorite Korean restaurant is Chicago Kalbi and Merla’s Kitchen (if you like Filipino food) is also fantastic – awesome empanada’s. Kabodi for Persian food is another exciting culinary destination.
The diversity of the community means that over 40 different languages are spoken within the public schools and, on a further educational front, North Park University is particularly gorgeous to visit.
There is also a strong Latin American presence in the area and the Ixcateco Grill for Mexican food is on par with the renowned Frontera Grill. Their food is organic and sustainable and they have a relaxed BYOB policy.
Jenson Park features a 2 ½ acre area containing a playground, water spray feature, junior baseball field and a basketball court. Finally, Albany Park has a high walk score, which makes for a diverse and busy business, retail and restaurant scene.
If you’re looking for more information on the Albany Park neighborhood, or a realtor to guide you through the various real estate options the area provides, I’d love to talk with you!
