Sigh, Lincoln Park!
Where to begin?
It’s one of Chicago’s most treasured neighborhoods, some of the best Real Estate in the city, (and one of my very favorite places)!
This historic area just north of Old Town is just a few steps from the lakefront and its namesake park, which also happens to the be largest in the city–stretching for 7 miles! Lincoln Park is a REAL ESTATE dream for buyers and sellers (and even myself as an agent)– boasting one of the most stable housing markets in Chicago. With high rises that dot the lakefront, vintage brownstones and frame houses that line the residential streets, storefronts with apartments above and newly built brick and limestone homes, this vibrant neighborhood has something for everyone.
If you’re thinking of buying or selling a house or condo in Lincoln Park, you’d certainly be making a wise choice. I can say this with confidence, as I’ve sold over 300 homes in this neighborhood in my 30 years as a realtor! Lincoln Park’s median housing value of $664,287 is 146% higher than in all of Chicago, with the median household income being 82% higher, at $85,738. Real Estate in Lincoln Park also suits a wide range of price points, ranging from $130,000 to $18 million, making it a popular destination from first time home buyers, to retirees.
I also might be a little biased to this area — I’ve called Lincoln Park my home for over 12 years! I’ve grown to know (and love) every corner of it. There’s simply no shortage of charming, local spots (aside from the incredible Real Estate)! Here are some of my very favorites:
A divine destination for those looking for a caffeine fix. This place is a must-visit for a cup of artfully brewed coffee or tea. (Say hello to Steve for me!) Head upstairs for a quiet place to read your morning paper, or power through some work emails. You’ll often find me here with a client, my team, or just catching up with a friend over an espresso (or two)!
One step inside this custom handbag store and you’ll be swooning. Head to Laudi Vidni to find the perfect gift for your sister, best friend, mother, or even yourself! You can choose from over 25 styles, and 50 types of leather to customize your own unique handbag, all manufactured right here in Chicago.
A carb lovers dream, this little italian nook is loved by locals and tourists alike for their constantly rotating menu of homemade pasta, pizza, and salad options–all at excellent prices, served in a warm, casual atmosphere. A great way to wrap up a day of house hunting, I might add!
Known for their Wizard of Oz statues, this picturesque park is one of my favorite spots for an early morning walk. Better yet, pick up a coffee to go from City Grounds and park yourself on a bench for some excellent people and dog watching.
Green City Market
Perhaps the best farmers market in the city, local vendors come from all over the state, Wisconsin, and Michigan to set up shop at Green City Market. Expect excellent foodie finds like local produce, artisanal cheeses, the best pickles you’ve ever tasted, freshly made french crepes, and sinfully delicious grilled cheese. Plan accordingly and you can knock out your full week of grocery shopping!
