Hyde Park, on the shore of Lake Michigan, is to be found about 7 miles South Side of the Loop. This helps to give it a kind of regal tranquility that is exacerbated by the fact that it hosts the University of Chicago campus, as well as the Museum of Science and Industry. Hyde Park Art Center is also the oldest alternative exhibition space in Chicago.
Did you know that Hyde Park is home the largest institution of African American history in the United States, the DuSable Museum?
The excellent Love Ja’ Grill, which used to be in Lincoln Park, has moved there, and for a wonderful view of the Chicago skyline don’t miss Promontory Point. Another not-to-be-missed event is the Hyde Park Jazz Festival and the Hyde Park shopping center is a great spot for your retail needs! If you’re looking for more information on the Hyde Park neighborhood, or a realtor to guide you through the various real estate options the area provides, I’d love to talk with you!
